Good morning!
Last you heard from us, we were discerning a big move and life was hectic, hectic, hectic! Well, it only got crazier! Let me update you on some of the fun the Coffman Clan has enjoyed the past few months... Jake accepted the job in Bluffton after we discerned it more seriously than we ever have discerned something before in our marriage. We weren't so sure we'd taken enough caution and most importantly, prayerful discernment when making decisions in the recent years. Things were great where we were, but they were also really tough. Although I wanted this job to be an out from the challenges of our daily struggles in Belmont, I knew that sometimes grass only appears to be greener on the other side. Needless to say, I couldn't deny the tug on my heart that felt just like it was from God. I just knew He was calling us to go to Bluffton, but we were scared. We had just bought a house not even a year earlier! In the end, we decided to listen to that tug, which started to tug at Jake's heart too, and take a leap of faith. Boy, am I glad! It wasn't easy at first. We've had a lot of curve balls thrown our way, and I've battled a lot of fears and feelings of defeat. There were times when I felt angry that God asked us to move here and then made it so hard on us. Except, here is the truth: God has been so good to us! Jake is overjoyed to be back in ministry; I could tell instantly. God made him for ministry, and he is home. I, on the other hand, love Bluffton! There is always something to do, and living this close to the beach is a total dream. Killian was born a beach babe, so he is in his natural habitat! The friends we've already made are so wonderful, and we are excited to keep meeting new families. What is even more positive is that our sweet little home is finally under contract and has been getting a lot of attention recently. We couldn't be happier! The pieces are all falling into place. Another big and exciting event happened in the Coffman house right before we ventured to the Low Country. Killian turned 1! We had such a fun time at his birthday party! The kid was spoiled rotten, but I really enjoyed spending time with family and friends who mean so much to us. I made Killian cake and cupcakes from scratch which was really fun! Since we try to eat healthy, I rarely bake, and this was the perfect reason to bake again! I actually really enjoy baking, and I thought it tasted pretty good as well. Although the true meaning of this get together was to celebrate Killian, we also wanted to spend time with those who were close to us in Charlotte. Charlotte was so good to us and we are grateful we're only a four hour drive away. I've been working out a lot more these days and have been feeling awesome! I've actually had several moments where I found myself wanting to workout, excited for my workout. That was a huge goal I have been striving for and I know I will continue striving for always. I've tweeked my nutrition in an attempt to love a normal yet healthy lifestyle post-whole30, and it has been going well! I avoid gluten and too much refined sugar. I find that gluten just makes me feel bloated, moody, sluggish, and bleh. If I have it here and there, I can't really tell, but I feel my best when I avoid it. I also found a nutrition shake that I love and that makes mom life easier. I still feel like my life is better because I did a whole30. It gave me a grip on my health that I've never really had, and it really set me on a good track since having Killian. Mix the healthy eating with the exercise, and this mamas crazy mom brain wrecked with hormonal insanity is reflecting something calm and normal. You're welcome, family. As I continue on my health journey, I constantly astounded by foods effect on our hormones and our minds. To be a good wife, a good mom, a good friend, I need to eat right and exercise. It's all part of being a better ME. It's been a great journey! As we settle into our new Bluffton home, we are grateful for another journey and adventure. I never moved growing up, but Jake has taken me all over. We started our life together in Juneau, Alaska but went back to our roots and comfort when we joined so many friends and family members in Charlotte. Now we are living in what has to be one of the most beautiful parts of the country. I'm not sure I ever want to move again! Unless it's buying a new house here! We've already visited local family, Zack and Jeni (Jake's brother and our Sister in law) and had a great visit from Grandma (Jake's mom). We were overjoyed to visit with friends from college who live in Indianapolis because they were vacationing near by us. Another privilege of living by the beach, we can catch the vacationers! We look forward to my parents visiting late September and of course anyone else who wants or plans to visit the beach this summer! We moved away from a lot of friend and family when we ventured off to Bluffton, but it seems that we are in the perfect spot for visitors :) All in all, we've had a lot of fun recently!

Enjoyed your blog so much. It is such good way to keep us all informed of your life and all that is going on. You live in a perfect area and I know why you love it as you were always a 'beach bunny'....Enjoy!
